Non stop eating in Macau

Eating, eating, and eating in Macau

ALBERGUE 1601
8 Calcada da Igreja de São Lazaro, Macau
https://goo.gl/maps/DyR33o2dPsH2

This is a highly recommended restaurant, recommended by friends, celebrities, media, etc. I think it's worth to try. Luckily I call them days before arriving Macau for reservation, or I won't even have a chance to try. So don't forget to make reservation in advance, they are really busy and always fully booked.

A jar of sangria is a must, taste very refreshing

Pig ears salad, very chewy and delicious

Garlic prawns, very fresh and very garlicky

Wished to order lamb rack, but not on new menu anymore. But this beef rib is not bad at all, tender and juicy

成記粥品
Macau, 新馬路新馬路營地大街吳家圍
https://goo.gl/maps/opnodY2UkUH2

Not easy to find the shop, it's inside an alley, otherwise call the friendly and funny boss, he will wave and welcome you

Nothing could be better than a simple traditional breakfast like this

新英記(巷仔)咖啡麵食
B-C 地下, 2 R. da Alegria, Macau
https://goo.gl/maps/KRYp6SRfmrN2

This shop is famous with their charcoal grill bun. I have ordered sardine bun, but then realised that I should have ordered fish cake bun which is their chef's recommendation.

Tried their charcoal grilled toast with peanut butter and condensed milk, no regret at all

Lai Kei Sorvetes
12 Av. do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida, Macau

Can hardly make up my mind, too many choices, wished to order the ice cream sandwich but worry if it is too much for me

Finally decide with a scope of taro ice-cream, it is so advertised on their door, and the advertisement seems older than myself

Yes, I have ordered one more scope, peanut butter. Taste so interesting, good sense, very smooth and very much like frozen creamy peanut butter

Cafe Leon
Macau, 氹仔舊城區氹仔地堡街79號泉福新邨第二期偉大閣第三座地下Q座
https://goo.gl/maps/7eaBuHZMTKM2

This is another Macanese restaurant on my wish list

Pig ears salad, taste even better than the previous one, especially the dressing and the garlic slices

Taste is ok but clams are not fat enough, maybe it's not seasonal

Wished to order beef rib but sold out. So replaced by lamb rack. Not good at all, too cooked or what, just simple not good

炭燒啡
Macau, 新橋(三盞燈/白鴿巢)大興街75號

Wished to return to the charcoal grilled bun shop, but they close on Sundays. So tried another similar one in the neighbourhood

Charcoal grilled pork chop bun

Taste delicious, no complaint at all

Apparently we are lucky to try this shop. It locates in an alley but not difficult to find at all

Famous with their bamboo noodle, it's absolutely true, very chewy noodle, soup is not bad at all

Loja Sopa Da Fita Cheong Kei
號, 68 R. da Felicidade, Macau

Famous on their bamboo noodle, but I don't find it good at all, plus the fish skins are literally bad

South African Wine

Western Cape of South Africa is absolutely a haven for wine lovers. Varieties, qualities and prices are incredibly amazing. I wish I could spend a long vacation here, trying out all wines and food on each vineyard of different wine routes.

Beautiful autumn color, we are so attracted by the entrance.

It's a huge resturant with lots of seats, luckily today is nothing special like mother's day nor father's day, we easily got a table for three.

We have ordered something simple, a borewors lasagne, 500g ribs and pumkin soup. They are yummy and cheap in prices.

Wine info for dummies. Tellling you drinking temperature, wine pairing suggestions. R110 for four wines  and four paring food.

Wine tasting area.

Durbanville Hills Wine Estate

Tygervalley Road

Interesting entrance.

Private area with stunning views.

High celling with natural light, very comfortable setting.

Bright color menu and good pricing food.

Food quality is fair enough, not extremely good.

Very comfy wine tasting area.

Wine tasting and pairing options.

I got this rose and the paired chocolate.

Table next to us are trying the biltong pairing.

Raphael's at Asara

Polkadraai Road

Decent and neat entrance.

This is a short drive but absolutely stunning drive taking us to the main part of the vineyard.

We were literally attracted and stopped.

Each hotel room deserves this view, what should I say... speechless.

Main area with two restaurants, Sansibar and Raphael's.

Our table, over the water, with this view!

Interior decor, apart from "luxury" I have no other descriptive for such.

This is the room I initially booked, but it's too small for our group, and I was advised to book this for 8-10 people in the near future. This room is literally private room with a huge round table, high ceiling, natural light, chandelier, etc.

Wide range of wine from its own farm.

Veggie and herb from it's own farm.

Simple menu, in good sense, we can easily and quickly pick our choices.

Cured sparta beef fillet carpaccio

Fresh saldanha bay black mussels

Roasted karoo springbok loin

Char grilled natrually fed pork loin chop

Pan-fried catch of the day = Tuna

Oven roasted overberg quail wrapped in bacon

Char grilled fillet of sparta beef

Wine tasting time and I got two bottles of Rose.
